History of Democratic Republic of the Yoruba (D.R.Y)

History of the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba (D.R.Y.)

The Democratic Republic of the Yoruba (D.R.Y.) emerged from the long-standing aspirations of many Indigenous Yoruba People seeking greater cultural preservation, justice, security, economic advancement, and peaceful self-determination.

For decades, Yoruba communities across Yorùbá land and the diaspora have continued conversations about identity, heritage, governance, development, and the future of the Yoruba people.

The D.R.Y. movement exists to preserve the values, traditions, language, and dignity of the Yoruba people while promoting peaceful civic engagement and unity among Yoruba sons and daughters globally.

Under the leadership of His Excellency Mobolaji Olawale Akinola Omokore, Interim President of D.R.Y., the movement continues to expand its organisational structure, global engagement, public awareness, and peaceful mobilisation efforts.

Today, D.R.Y. stands as a platform for Yoruba unity, cultural pride, peace, responsible leadership, and hope for future generations.
